Coach/Teaching Artist/Consultant
I have worked as an acting coach, teaching artist, literacy consultant and seminar leader in a variety of settings in Australia, Europe and Japan, and, since 1997, the United States.
My most satisfying responsibility is to inspire and motivate people, taking them enthusiastically from where they are to where they want to go.
Whether coaching actors for auditions, leading a writing workshop, conducting workshops for animators at School of Visual Arts, guiding young adults in theatre appreciation for Lincoln Center Education, facilitating an English language voice laboratory or teaching drama in a correction center, I encourage learning for enjoyment and not just as a means to an end.
As a literacy and education consultant, I model effective teaching strategies for classroom teachers, assist school principals and administrators with developing school action plans, create collaborative teaching teams and conduct professional development.
I believe that when all else fails, try the Arts.
